Dear Pam.
With regards your son and his new Altiquin puppy, I would be
more than willing to keep in touch regularly about every aspect
of his training, even to the point of competing with him in obedience
events or retrieving trials. You should find out where your nearest
clubs are for that purpose.
One of the first things a new puppy owner needs to decide is
where the new pup is going to sleep. The place needs to be accessible
as well as a safe house for him. Remember, the ground rules you
lay down now will need to be adherred to for his lifespan. So,
it is important that these rules are ones you want kept for that
period. For instance, as a pup it may be nice for him to climb
onto your sofa. But, do you always want that? Give him boundaries.
It is no different from raising a child.
Anyway I will leave that at the moment. As you may have realized,
training and trialing labradors are my passions. So, once I start...
I start.
Yours faithfully, Paul,
Altiquin Dogs
